Kawakawa Harvest Sessions

After each new moon of the moon cycle, we harvest by hand, with karakia (prayer) to Tāne-mahuta (guardian of the forest & birds) and Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) wild Kawakawa leaves deep within the bush around Kaihere. When our hills need a rest, we make a day trip to Karangahake and harvest from the luscious Gorge, whilst healing ourselves from being surrounded by native bush, nature and listening to the many birds who sing to us while we visit them. We then soak the harvest overnight and lay them out to dry.  Once dried, we naturally infuse our own purpose made Kawakawa oil over a period of 2-3 weeks on premise to use in our products.
